Talk boosts agriculture knowledge

Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) organised an Agritalk lecture titled ‘Smart and Precision Agriculture System to Realise Sustainable Agro-Enterprise’ recently.

The lecture was the third in the series conducted by UNISSA’s Agriculture Faculty in collaboration with the Centre of Leadership and Lifelong Learning.

Some 21 participants comprising officers from the Department of Agriculture and Agrifood of the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, officers and staffs of the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE), students from higher learning institutions and UNISSA attended.

Facilitator Professor Dr Ir Kudang Boro Seminar, from IPB University, Bogor Indonesia briefed on the introduction on agro-enterprise, and discussed topics such as suitable land for agriculture, methods for agricultural maintenance and how to manage unwanted grass in agricultural areas.

The lecture hoped to promote farming knowledge and encourage participants to venture into agriculture.
