Taking HR profession to greater heights

Forty Human Resources Society (HRS) members comprising Human resources (HR) professionals from the public and private sector, attended a workshop and connect session on the topic ‘The Path to Leadership Development’ at the Banquet Hall 3B, Level 3, Progresif Headquarters on November 19.

This is the second workshop and connect edition following the topic on Organisational Effectiveness Essentials on September 2022 to provide tools to manage the rapidly changing environment and its important relevance to HR.

The event kicked-off with opening remarks by the President and founder of HRS Hajah Zainab MA Omar, HR Director of Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP).

The workshop-style session, led by Melati Dato Paduka Haji Yusoff, the Leadership Development and Functional Learning Lead at BSP, provided an introduction to leadership and explored how to establish a leadership development strategy.

Members were taught to understand the importance of leadership competence and the 70:20:10 Model; appreciate the difference between leader, boss and manager and the mind-sets of a good leader; explore tools in creating a leadership development strategy, and practice the application of the 70:20:10 approach in the context of your Leadership Journey.

The event closed with the presentation of certificates of appreciation by HRS President and founder to Melati as main facilitator, and the event partner representative on behalf of Progresif Chief Executive Officer Hajah Nurul Haniah binti Haji Jaafar, and Chief HR and Administration Officer Yazdi Yahya.
