Takaful Brunei continues to ascend with triple awards

Takaful Brunei has notched another milestone by collecting three awards from Insurance Asia Awards 2022.

Takaful Brunei Mobile was recognised as the Sultanate’s ‘Mobile App of The Year’, while Takaful Brunei Am Sdn Bhd (TBA) received the Domestic General Insurer of The Year Award and Takaful Brunei Keluarga Sdn Bhd (TBK) was awarded the ‘Domestic Life Insurer of The Year’.

According to Takaful Brunei, the Insurance Asia Awards gathers Asia’s leading insurance and takaful companies in recognition of initiatives, product and service developments, as well as innovative solutions. The awards have been handed out since 2016, with over 130 companies nominated from 30 countries. Takaful Brunei represents Brunei Darussalam as one of the many companies nominated and awarded.

In view of the achievement, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II cum Chairman of Takaful Brunei Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah said, “Alhamdulillah, Takaful Brunei is grateful and humbled to receive the three prestigious international awards, and greatly appreciates the support from all stakeholders contributing to this milestone.”

“Insya Allah, Takaful Brunei will continue to strive towards service excellence as the leading takaful protection provider by listening and evolving to the needs of our valued customers. Takaful Brunei will continue to be an integral part of Brunei Darussalam’s financial industry, particularly the takaful sector, by providing takaful coverages to protect the nation’s population,” he said.

The awards recognise Takaful Brunei’s journey as a progressive market leader in the takaful and insurance industry. Takaful Brunei has been providing benefits and values of takaful protection for individuals, families and corporate institutions for nearly 30 years. Takaful Brunei Mobile is a pioneer in digital delivery of services in Brunei Darussalam’s takaful and insurance industry, providing a safe and convenient digital platform for takaful product participations and takaful certificate management for nearly three years.

The app has garnered the trust of over 60,000 active users and continues to grow daily, making it the nation’s most successful takaful/insurance mobile application.

Takaful Brunei Mobile is further enhanced with a customer reward system for users to earn reward points to redeem product discount tokens, items at participating reward merchants, and even donations to charitable organisations.

Meanwhile, to assist customers during the COVID-19 pandemic, TBK enhanced its features by offering hospital cash benefits for hospitalisation situations, providing cash assistance, which was made available via the mobile app.

To ensure customers are safeguarded, TBK’s Mortgage and Financing Takaful now covers pre-existing conditions, allowing potential homeowners greater convenience and peace of mind when purchasing a home as a long-term investment.

TBA progressed in developing travel protection solutions during the pandemic by providing COVID-19 medical expense coverage for essential travellers through their comprehensive TBA Musafir Takaful.

As the nation transitioned into its endemic phase, the COVID-19 coverages were extended to TBA’s Musafir Takaful Family Package, medical outbound coverage, as well as Haj and Umrah packages.

A trip cancellation benefit was also included for all Musafir Takaful packages, except the medical outbound. This was to ensure travellers are protected against unforeseen situations, such as medical emergencies, personal liability or related travel mishaps.

Additionally, Takaful Brunei Mobile recently introduced the convenience of switching from any car insurance/Takaful provider to TBA’s Motor Takaful to enjoy comprehensive coverage with discounts. The new feature was developed to make customer participation in TBA’s Motor Takaful easier, and assist in the transition to a fully digital platform for all their Takaful needs.
