About 750 officers, staff, and personnel of the Ministry of Defence (MinDef) attended a recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil ceremony at the Royal Mausoleum in Jalan Tutong, Bandar Seri Begawan yesterday.
The event was held for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman, the late parents of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and for His Majesty’s late son Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof led the delegation.
Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Permanent Secretary at the MinDef Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Alirupendi bin Haji Perudin and senior leadership were also present.
Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Mujib bin Haji Japar from the RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT) lead the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil. The annual event is part of the Ihya and Ramadhan Outreach programme organised by the JAMA’AT, MinDef. – James Kon
