The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) and the Ministry of Education (MoE) yesterday held a recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil ceremony for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman, the late parents of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, and for His Majesty’s late son, Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim.
The event was held at the Royal Mausoleum to mark the 32nd Teacher’s Day celebration which falls tomorrow.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman attended the ceremony alongside 300 senior officers, officers – including teachers from educational institutions under the MoE and MoRA. The recitation of Surah Yaasiin was led by Affairs Officer at the MoRA Zulkifli bin Haji Murat, before continuing with the Tahlil and Doa Arwah.
Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim, Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the MoE Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Ra’es of Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB), Rector of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), deputy permanent secretaries and department heads from both ministries also attended.
