The Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) held a Tahlil and Doa Arwah ceremony for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman, the late parents of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, and for His Majesty’s late son Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim at the Royal Mausoleum, Jalan Tutong yesterday. Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin led the delegation which included Deputy Permanent Secretary I at the MPRT Haji Mohd Yusree bin Haji Junaidi, department heads, senior officers and staff of MPRT and its departments.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by a collective reading of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil led by of Brunei-Muara District Zone 2 Mosque Monitoring Officer Mohd Amin bin Haji Salim.
The ceremony also served as one of the religious activities of the ministry, its departments and agencies to enliven the month of Ramadhan. – Adib Noor

Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) and its group of companies held its annual Tahlil ceremony at the Royal Mausoleum in Jalan Tutong yesterday.
BIBD and its group of companies held its annual Tahlil recitation ceremony for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman, the late parents of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, and for His Majesty’s late son Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Yaasiin followed by Tahlil and prayers by Mosque Affairs Officer from Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien, Imam Haji Hamdini bin Haji Gharif.
Some 250 congregrants attended the ceremony. Managing Director of Brunei Investment Agency led the delegation.
Member of the BIBD Board of Directors Haji Sofian bin Mohammad Jani, Assistant State Mufti (Buhuth) at the State Mufti’s Office in his capacity as Deputy Chairman of Syarikat Takaful Brunei Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mazanan bin Haji Yusof; BIBD’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Junaidi bin Haji Masri Chairman of BIBD Group Shariah Advisory Body Associate Professor Dr Abdul Nasir bin Haji Abdul Rani and Takaful Brunei Managing Director and CEO Haji Shahrildin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Lela Utama Dato Paduka Haji Jaya as well as other members of the Board of Directors of BIBD Group and Takaful Brunei were also present.
Management and staff from BIBD, BIBD Securities, BIBD At-Tamwil Berhad and Takaful Brunei also participated.
The ceremony marked one of the annual religious events of the bank during the holy month of Ramadhan to reap good deeds and seek Allah the Almighty’s blessings, remember those who have passed and strengthen ties among the bank’s personnel and staff. – James Kon
