Residents of Kampong Limpasong in Limbang, Sarawak were caught off guard on Sunday, when hailstones rained down on their village.
The rare weather phenomenon had residents reaching for their cameras and mobile phones – and even gathering ice crystals as “souvenirs”.
One eyewitness, Erin Julie, took photos and videos of the hail fall, which went viral on social media after she forwarded them to a relative in Brunei.
“The ice shower suddenly occurred without any warning, after a very hot day,” she said.
