The village consultative council (MPK) of Kampong Sungai Liang organised a cleaning campaign at the Sungai Liang Forest Recreation Park yesterday.
Acting Assistant Belait District Officer Mohamad Abdul Hadi bin Haji Mohd Syarifuddin attended the event in the company of the penghulu and village heads in Zone 1 of the Belait District.
Among the activities lined up for the day were the planting of saplings, the painting of the futsal court and skateboarding rink, and picking up rubbish and clearing overgrown grass.
The campaign also served as a preparation for a tamu event on October 30.
The sapling planting was conducted as part of the MPK’s support towards the Green Protocol initiative to achieve the national target set by the Brunei Darussalam National Climate Change Policy.
