Brunei Darussalam yesterday recorded 31 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the national tally of confirmed cases to 16,179. Of the 31 cases, 16 are local and 15 imported.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Health (MoH), the new cases were detected through 3,123 laboratory tests carried out over the last 24 hours. The infection rate of positive cases stands at one per cent.
Eighteen cases recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 15,700. There are 377 active cases in the country.
The bed occupancy rate at isolation centres nationwide stands at 9.7 per cent. There are currently no Category 4 or Category 5 being treated at the intensive care unit.
As of January 24, 94.8 per cent of the populace had received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 93.9 per cent had received two doses. Meanwhile, 37.8 per cent of the population have received the booster shot.
