    Sultan launches Brunei’s Defence White Paper 2021

    His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam launched Brunei Darussalam’s Defence White Paper 2021 (DWP 2021) in conjunction with the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Diamond Jubilee Celebration at the Brunei Arts and Handicraft Training Centre yesterday.

    Also in attendance were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, and His Royal Highness 920 Major (U) Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.

    Titled Defending the Nation’s Sovereignty: A Secure and Resilient Future, DWP 2021 represents the latest comprehensive examination of how the Ministry of Defence and RBAF must adapt to continue in defending the nation, its sovereignty and territorial integrity into the future within the contours of an increasingly challenging contemporary security landscape, in line with the country’s broader national security effort.

    DWP 2021 is Brunei Darussalam’s fourth Defence White Paper, building on the strengths of the inaugural Defence White Paper in 2004, and subsequent papers in 2007 and 2011.
