His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, yesterday attended the swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed Judicial Commissioner of the Supreme Court.
Present at the ceremony were His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah; and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.
The ceremony began with the reading of the Letter of Appointment by Grand Chamberlain Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Penggawa Laila Bentara Istiadat Diraja Dalam Istana Pengiran Haji Alauddin bin Pengiran Paduka Tuan Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar.
It continued with the recitation of the oath before His Majesty by Justice Kannan Ramesh as the Judicial Commissioner of the Supreme Court.
Also present at the ceremony were Special Adviser to His Majesty and Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Bakti Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Isa bin Pehin Datu Perdana Manteri Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Ibrahim, Attorney General Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Hairol Arni bin Haji Abdul Majid, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Dato Seri Paduka Steven Chong Wan Oon, High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore to Brunei Darussalam Lim Hong Huai, and High Court Judge Pengiran Datin Paduka Hajah Rostaina binti Pengiran Haji Duraman.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman.
