THE 4th Higher Education Expo 2019 continued yesterday with a series of seminars and forums for prospective students at the Bridex Hall 2 in Jerudong.
The ‘Success Stories of Local Graduates’ forum featured successful local graduates, including Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Iswandy bin Ahmad, Founder and CEO of Al-Huffaz Management Hai Mohammad Loqman bin Haji Hamdan, Johari bin Ibrahim and Norisa binti Md Norazmi.
The panellists shared their experiences on studying at local universities and shared advice to prospective undergraduates. The forum was moderated by the Head of Continuing Education/Acting Divisional Director Corporate Affairs of the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Sumardi bin Haji Abdul Hamid as the Co-Secretariat for Higher Education Expo 2019,
The ‘How to write personal statement’ seminar and ‘Interview Clinic Workhop’ were also held.
Organised by the Ministry of Education (MoE) through the Higher Education Division, Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) and Scholarship Section, the expo featured 58 institutions; including 13 public and private higher education institutions, 21 foreign educational institutions, 12 government and private agencies, eight local and international education services agencies, and four missions and overseas representatives.
Apart from exhibitions and consultation sessions, the expo also included seminars and forums from local educational institutions and associations that discussed writing a curriculum vitae and interview tips.
The primary focus of the expo is to be a ‘One Stop Information Centre for Higher Education’ as it unites all post-secondary educational institutions, government and private institutions of higher education, as well as local and foreign education agencies under one roof. It also aims to highlight the multiple pathways to higher educational opportunities locally and abroad.
