FIFTY-EIGHT students and teachers from Chung Hwa Middle School, Bandar Seri Begawan and Chung Hua Middle School, Kuala Belait will spend their school term holiday in Taiwan to experience university life in the Da Yeh University until March 28.
The first-of-its-kind trip was under the Higher Education Experience School Programme.

In an interview with the Bulletin, William Lin said, “I am excited that so many students from Years 9 and 10 have joined this programme. They will experience university life in the campus of Da Yeh University to get a real feel of whether they would like to further their studies in Taiwan.” Da Yeh University, he said, “offered numerous courses in science and technology as well as professional training. We hope that the students will be able to see which courses that they may want to pursue in the university after completing their studies in Brunei Darussalam.”
He added, “We hope that through such programmes, more Brunei students would consider Taiwan as their next destination to further their studies. Taiwan’s university offered numerous quality science and technology courses.”
He revealed that last year, there were around 16,000 Malaysian studying in Taiwan.
Principal of Chung Hua Middle School, Kuala Belait Lim Siew Lee is leading her school during the trip.
She hoped that the students can gain a lot from the trip about the way of life in Taiwan and Taiwanese culture.
