A total of 211 students, teachers and staff at Saba Primary School took part in a Fire and School Building Evacuation Training carried out by the Operation ‘D’ Branch, Public Relations Unit of the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) on Tuesday.
Attendees were taught the importance of fire safety and given practical lessons such as knowing what to do in the event of a fire including carrying out a systematic building evacuation training, and the procedures to rescue oneself when trapped in a burning building.
The FRD offers safety programmes such as the Fire Prevention Briefing, LS995 and Fire Marshall Course on aspects of safety when handling emergencies as well as the correct way to use a fire extinguisher.
