Students take on duty to help peers, college community

Thirty-five new student counsellors were appointed by the Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College (MDPMAMB) for its peer-to-peer counselling programme Pembimbing Rakan Remaja (PRR) on Monday.

The investiture of the new counsellors organised by the college’s Counselling Unit, was attended by Deputy Principal (Administration) Dayangku Zalina binti Pengiran Haji Aliuddin.

She thanked the outgoing group of student counsellors on behalf of the college principal Dayangku Hajah Nooramaliatifah binti Pengiran Haji Ahmad for their commitment and for organising various activities at the college in the year 2021 and 2022.

MDPMAMB Counsellor Pengiran ‘Ain Basyiirah @ Dayangku Ashnani binti Pengiran Haji Besar, congratulated student counsellors for their appointment.

The new student counsellors were selected through a series of interviews in March and PRR’s Duli Camp in May.

The PRR’s role are to identify students or peers needing consultation and to attend to those seeking help.

The student counsellors also organise and carry out projects and events for the college community.

Outgoing PRR president Chloe Lam Yunyi handed over the President’s Vest to incoming PRR President Mohd Sahzwan bin Lamat.

New PRR Vice Presidents, Dayangku Widad Aiman binti Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasimudin and Patrick Tambi anak Paun also received their PRR vest.
