The Business Week of Kolej International of Graduate Studies (IGS) was launched yesterday officiated by the college CEO Dr Haji Azaharaini bin Haji Jamil.
An activity set to give the students the opportunity to apply their knowledge and demonstrate their skills in planning and executing business projects, the launching began with a Doa Selamat followed with a speech from the CEO.
He expressed hope that the Business Week activities will continue to grow with diverse activities and more creative ideas being added to the programme and involving a bigger audience or community participation not only to achieve its objectives but also the national objective of promoting the country’s tourism industry.
Meanwhile, Head of Business Faculty Gwendoline William noted that the event prepares students to face the challenges following their graduation.
The Business Week is also set with the objectives to provide a better understanding on revenue and costing in making profitable businesses, to develop good communication and customer relation skills, self-confidence and to foster better teamwork relationships and interaction among students and lecturers.
It also serves to build personal confidence in conducting business and dealing with customers, to collaborate with other faculties in making the event integrated and successful.
Following the launch, the CEO witnessed a cooking demo at the food fair section before proceeding to visit the participating stalls and the exhibition hall showcasing projects by the college’s students in relation to Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB).
Other activities included Art Exhibition and Entrepreneurship, Talk on Business Start-up by Ajwa Kitchen & Catering and Theatre Plays on Business Etiquette in Action and Human Resource Management. There will also be an AITI E-Commerce Awareness Programme on the final day.
