Students learn more about ASEAN, Brunei Vision 2035

AROUND 400 students of Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien College (SOASC) attended Kenali ASEAN roadshow organised by the Information Department at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) at the college hall, yesterday.

The roadshow was organised through the International Affairs Unit as the Secretariat for the Sub-Committee on Information (SCI) of the ASEAN Committee on Culture and Information (ASEAN-COCI).

It is part of the effort of the Information Department in instilling the spirit of patriotism and ASEAN identity in the students.

Deputy Principal (Administrative) of SOASC Krestina binti Haji Daud was the guest of honour.

The roadshow began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and the singing of the national anthem, followed by the singing of the ASEAN theme song.

Special Duties Officer Grade II, and Head of International Affairs Unit of the Information Department Abdul Karim bin Hamdan gave a talk on Kenali ASEAN.

The talk continued with information on Brunei Vision 2035 so that the students are aware of the development of the country, and help realise the country’s vision.

A video clip on ASEAN was screened and quizzes by Field Information Officer Mohd Adi Zamhari bin Haji Yahya were held.

Prizes were presented to students who answered the quizzes correctly.
