Students learn Japanese art of paper folding

Some 60 Year 3 to Year 5 students of Sungai Siamas Primary School joined an origami workshop on Thursday, organised by the Embassy of Japan in Brunei Darussalam, to introduce students to traditional Japanese arts and culture.

Japanese Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Maeda Toru also joined the workshop and mingled with the children.

Fauzan Othman from the embassy, whose hobby is making origami, facilitated the workshop and provided students with instructions on how to make ‘Pikachu’ and ‘Jumping frog’.

The ambassador said, “I enjoyed the workshop and felt that the kids enjoyed it too. I hope we can extend this activity to other schools.”
