CHUNG Hua Middle School, Kuala Belait, was honoured for its practical, innovative and advanced innovations during the Brunei ICT Awards (BICTA) 2018 presentation ceremony on August 30, 2018 at the International Convention Centre (ICC).
The school team’s ‘IHA’ (Instant Health Aid) product won third place. The product was developed by Kelly Chin Hui Ling, Jadrien Lo Wei Xiang and Novanda Bardia Wahid from Year 9 Science under the supervision of Teacher Smitha Sajeev Kumar. The students received a trophy, certificate and a cash prize of BND1,000.
IHA is a health care mobile app which provides comprehensive solution for health issues in three main areas: Blood Bank, Health Diet and Disease prediction. IHA apps can guide users in different areas such as diet plans, blood donors, hospitals and symptoms of diseases. The app which can be downloaded from the Internet, is responsive and easily accessible to all users. Our winning students had the opportunity to represent Brunei Darussalam in a regional competition – the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards (APICTA) – in Guangzhou, the People’s Republic of China from October 9 to 13, 2018. The team managed to attain the fourth place overall.
