Deputy Head of the association’s Youth Sporting Section Hee Siang Ming said Foochow Association of Kuala Belait will provide educational scholarships for selected students.

He made these comments at a ceremony to mark The Youth Sporting Section of the Foochow Association of Kuala Belait 35th anniversary celebration at its main building at Jalan Bunga Raya and Jalan Bunga Simpur, Kuala Belait recently.

“I hope that the celebration, as well as the accompanying opportunities to help those in need will help to inspire not only the students who are receiving aid to further pursue their education, but also to encourage the members to be proactive in seeking to create these opportunities for those in need,” he said as the event’s organising chairperson.

Around 180 attendees, including the association’s permanent honorary advisors and permanent honorary chairmen, were present for the milestone occasion.

“In celebrating the 35th anniversary, it is important to appreciate the effort that has been made by both our past and present committee members, whose dedication and hard work have paved the way to where we are today,” Hee said.
