SOME 150 Years 9 and 10 students of Jerudong International School (JIS) attended a programme entitled Information Youth Peer Programme yesterday.
The briefings focussed on the importance of the students being aware of the current issues and promoted patriotism among them besides respect and appreciation towards the country, religion and the monarchy. The programme was conducted by the Information Department at the JIS Art Centre, Jerudong.
Head of the Nationhood Unit of the Information Department Hajah Hamsah binti Datu Kerna Haji Jaya facilitated the briefing which focussed on several topics including ‘Raja Kita’ and ‘Appreciating the National Anthem’.
Senior Special Duties Officer at the Private Education Unit at the Ministry of Education Marina Chek binti Bujang was the guest of honour. Jerudong International School Principal Barnaby Sandow and teachers also attended the briefing.
Other activities held during the event included a video presentation titled Kibarkanlah Dengan Megah Bendera Negara and performances by JIS students, including a tableau titled Seloka Pa Kadok and choir performance titled Negaraku Brunei Darussalam.
