Students flex their muscles in online language competition

Jerudong International School (JIS) French language students in the Senior School recently took part in a worldwide online competition organised by EducationPerfect, a web learning platform which allows students to enhance their knowledge of a variety of subjects including languages.

Over the course of three days, 102,286 questions were answered by JIS students.

The students involved in the online competition embraced the opportunity to learn new words as well as having fun competing against their peers from other countries.

Year 11 and 9 students Rodion Rakhimzyanov and Tom Richmond achieved the ‘Elite Status’, leading JIS with the highest scores and rankings, 24th and 29th, among 9626 other students who participated across the world.

A variety of prizes were awarded to the top JIS students in the competition to celebrate.

JIS finished in 11th position for French against 70 other schools, some of which had as many as 16 times more students involved.

When compared to schools with similar student numbers, JIS gained an outstanding third position from 19 schools. In Spanish, JIS finished seventh out of 18 schools.
