Students feted for voluntary work

The HOPE Project concluded with a closing ceremony at Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Masna Secondary School of Sungai Akar recently. The ceremony saw the presentation of certificates to students who had been involved in months of voluntary work and community service since it was officially opened in March this year.

Guest of honour, Head of Counselling and Career Unit of the Department of Schools, Ministry of Education Mohamad Hatta bin Haji Suhaili presented certificates and prizes to the participants and winners.

Dayangku Siti Nur Hazirah Aqilah binti Pengiran Saiful Rizal won the grand prize, while the Most Committed Awards and the Best Reflection Award went to Chai Tien Ling and Norhassiahana binti Mohammad Faizal respectively. Year 10Sc3 class won the award for the most participation. The project aimed to instil a sense of empathy and responsibility among students and raised awareness on the importance of contributing back to the community.

Among the NGOs the students took part in were SMARTER Brunei, PAZ Tarbiyyah, Volunteer and First Aid Supported Team (V-Fast), Projek Bina Ukhwah, Green Brunei and Brunei Darussalam Taekwondo Association.
