Students briefed on youth award

The Secretariat of the 18th National Youth Day Award held a briefing at the National Archive building yesterday.

The briefing was delivered by the Head of Youth and Sports Hajah Noor Maslina binti Haji Sulaiman, followed by a briefing on the guidelines to register for the award from Assistant Head of Youth and Sports Shahrinah binti Haji Abdul Rahman.

The event also saw a session by a recipient of the National Youth Day Award last year, Dr Mohammad Hilmy Baihaqy bin Haji Awang Yussof.

The briefing was attended by students from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), Universiti Teknologi Brunei, Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB), Politeknik Brunei, Cosmopolitan College of Commerce and Technology, Kolej International Graduate Studies (KIGS), Micronet International College, KEMUDA Institute, and Laksamana College of Business.

The National Youth Day Award is a state recognition of the youth movement in the country to jointly answer the titah of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to focus on youth as priceless assets of the country.

This year’s award is divided into four categories: Excellence Youth Award, Serving Youth Award, Young Youth Leaders Award, and Excellent Project for Youth Award.
