Students attend monthly religious programme

STUDENTS from the Belait Arabic School (SAB) attended a briefing at the school’s prayer hall as part of a monthly programme held by the Islamic Studies Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs yesterday morning.

A total of 108 students from the school attended the programme with this month’s theme Mensyukuri Kepimpinan Raja Yang Adil (Appreciating the leadership of a fair monarch). It sought to highlight and appreciate the efforts made by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in improving the livelihood of the citizens of the country. Teacher of the school Sawardi bin Haji Mahadi delivered a briefing on this month’s theme.

The event continued with the recitation of Surah Yaasiin conducted in conjunction with His Majesty’s 73rd birthday celebration led by teacher Ahmad Za’aim bin Haji Bagol. It concluded with the Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam led by Ustaz Sawardi.

Senior Co-Curriculum teacher of the school Mohammad Rodzee Adhraf bin Haji Abdul Rahim hoped that the programme held at the school for this month will help the students to appreciate the effort made by His Majesty, especially with the annual get-together in the Belait District tomorrow.

Similar programmes were also held in religious schools across the four districts which included Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Masna Religious School for the Brunei-Muara District, Tutong Kem Religious School for the Tutong District, Pengiran Setia Jaya Pengiran Abdul Momin Religious School for the Belait District, and Bokok Religious School for the Temburong District.
