In line with its function and responsibility as the mouth, eyes and ears of the government, the Information Department through the Community Unit, Strategic Communications Section, Publication and Strategic Communication Division recently held a dialogue programme with Mukim Lumapas residents at Sayyidina Umar Al-Khattab Secondary School.
The programme was held in Mukim Gadong ‘A’ in 2016, Mukim Kilanas and Mukim Menteri in 2017, Mukim Pangkalan Batu, Mukim Telisai and Mukim Sengkurong in 2018, Mukim Gadong ‘B’, Mukim Bukit Sawat, Mukim Amo and Mukim Lamunin in 2019 and Mukim Berakas ‘B’ in 2020.
The programme is expected to strengthen ties between the government and mukim residents.
The programme also showcases the government’s initiative to ensuring that residents live in peace and prosperity.
The programme was chaired by Acting Director of Information Siti Bismi Nuruliman binti Haji Emzah, who said various issues have been received by the Information Department, of which 19 consisted of infrastructure, public facilities, economy, environment and security.
The issues were gathered from a ‘personal contact’ programme fronted by the Information Department with Mukim Lumapas.
Acting Deputy Director of Information Sastra Sarini binti Haji Julaini, Penghulu of Mukim Lumapas Amran bin Haji Maidin, village heads under Mukim Lumapas, senior officers, officials and staff from various government agencies and residents of Mukim Lumapas were also present.
