Strengthening ties with motor ride

Thirty motorcycles and 40 riders comprising members of various motorcycle associations in the Sultanate, participated in the first Silaturahim Ride on Friday.

“The ride was a spontaneous suggestion from a WhatsApp group with participating riders, which resulted in everyone agreeing to represent their motor and scooter associations and clubs in the sungkai ride,” said Adnan bin Haji Maarub, who is a member of several motor associations, including PEMODA and HOG.

One of the ride’s objectives is to establish and strengthen ties among riders in the spirit of brotherhood among motor and scooter associations and clubs.

“Most of the riders are active in motor activities, including retired individuals. I was surprised to see the positive response from the members. It was good to see new faces.”

Adanan said seeing the encouraging turnout, they hope to organise more rides in the future to places of interest and engage in charity and community activities.

Participant Nur Khadijah binti Haji Ismail expressed her gratitude to those who made the gathering possible. “Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of a bike ride – it’s therapeutic,” she said.

The convoy pushed off at their meeting point on Mile 1 Jalan Tutong, riding out to the Hassanal Bolkiah highway and headed towards the Muara-Tutong Highway.

They made a stop at Seri Kenangan Beach, Tutong District before continuing the ride to I Love Cafe Bistro in Pekan Tutong for the breaking of fast.
