Strengthening ties with bowling

Hajah Jarah binti Haji Sulaiman won the Queen of the Lanes Challenge Trophy held in conjunction with the sixth anniversary of the Queen of the Lanes (QotL) at the iBowl Utama Bowling in Jalan Tutong yesterday.

The bowler recorded 702 pinfalls to secure the women’s singles title ahead of Hajah Mastura binti Haji Sulaiman who totalled 690 pinfalls followed by Cynthia with 660.

Acting Director of Youth and Sports Mariam binti Ulat was the guest of honour.

President of Brunei Darussalam Tenpin Bowling Congress Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Abdul Badee’ bin Pengiran Kerma Raja Pengiran Haji Kamarulzaman was also present. The tournament was open to women bowlers only aged 35 and above with an average of 160 and under.

It aimed to strengthen ties and provided an opportunity for women to be active in sports.
