Al-Quran should be made into a daily practice, both individually and collectively, as it invites multiple rewards, said State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned.

The State Mufti was delivering a special talk on Radio Television Brunei (RTB) yesterday, titled ‘Continuing Motivation to Read Al-Quran’.

“As Muslims, we should truly comprehend and be aware of the eminent status of Al-Quran,” he said. “Those who recite Al-Quran will receive salvation on the Day of Judgement, a day of utter devastation and terror.”

The State Mufti also highlighted the benefits of reading Surah Al-Fatihah, as a special privilege bestowed by Allah the Almighty to the Ummah of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

“Those who recite Surah Al-Fatihah will destroy and weaken all evil efforts to deviate the Ummah. And those who read Surah Al-Fatihah will enter Paradise by the grace of Allah the Almighty. In this present life, they will receive protection, safety and assistance from Allah the Almighty, as Surah Al-Fatihah contains a supplication and His pledge.”

The State Mufti also emphasised the benefits of reciting Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim, and urged Muslim parents to instil it as a daily routine in their children.
