RECIPIENTS of state decorations at the Audience and Investiture Ceremony held yesterday at the Balai Singgahsana Indera Buana of Istana Nurul Iman conveyed their appreciation and gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
Fifteen recipients were conferred state decorations during the ceremony. One of the recipients was Joint Force Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohammad Sharif bin Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, who received the Most Gallant Order of Pahlawan Negara Brunei (PSPNB).
Speaking to the Bulletin, the Joint Force Commander of the RBAF expressed his highest gratitude to His Majesty on the award of the PSPNB and said that it was an honour to receive it.
“Alhamdulillah, this state decoration is very significant in particular for the RBAF, where His Majesty places immense trust on the armed forces for us to ensure that we conduct our duties and responsibilities to ensure the security of the nation,” he said. “It provides us that sense of renewed vigour in ensuring that responsibility and trust is taken to the highest level.”
Chief Justice of the Brunei Supreme Court Dato Seri Paduka Steven Chong Wan Oon received the Most Honourable Order of Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei First Class (SPMB).
Speaking on receiving the SPMB, he said, “Junjung Kasih to His Majesty for this great honour, not just to myself but also to the judiciary. The judiciary is committed to upholding the rule of law and also to improve the delivery of our justice delivery system.”
Another to receive the SPMB was Deputy Minister of Development Dato Seri Paduka Haji Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin, who expressed Junjung Kasih to His Majesty.
“Insya Allah, I will further increase efforts in carrying out duties under the Ministry of Development,” said the deputy minister.
Meanwhile, Superintendent of Religious Education at the Islamic Studies Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs Hajah Hamdiah binti Haji Salleh, who received the Most Eminent Order of Islam Brunei Third Class (SSUB), expressed her gratitude to His Majesty for the honour.
“I feel overwhelmed and happy to receive the conferment today,” she said. “Insya Allah, I will strive to further serve Brunei Darussalam – the people, religion and nation.”
Rector of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal was one of the recipients conferred the Most Blessed Order of Setia Negara Brunei Third Class (SNB). Speaking on the achievement, he expressed Junjung Kasih to His Majesty for the conferment of SNB.
“Insya Allah, I will continue to be determined to serve and also contribute dedication and energy to the development of religion, people and nation and also to support the leadership of His Majesty to make Brunei Darussalam a developed nation,” he added.
