The International School Brunei (ISB) hosted an Awards Evening on November 11 to recognise its IGCSE students who achieved outstanding academic results during the May/June 2020 IGCSE examinations.
Eighty-eight per cent of all grades achieved by ISB’s 78 candidates were grades ‘A*’ to ‘C’, with 37 per cent either grades ‘A*’ or ‘A’. Fourteen per cent obtained eight or more grades ‘A*’ or ‘A’.
The cohort was also awarded certificates to recognise the completion of the IGCSE courses.
ISB Board of Directors Roy Kurian welcomed the new Year 12 students to the school. ISB Board of Directors Datin Hajah Sarimah binti Haji Umar presented the IGCSE Academic Excellence Awards in recognition of the ISB students who obtained eight or more grades ‘A*’ or ‘A’.
Students awarded were Ammar Roseazam (2A*, 7A), Harry Kwang (2A*, 7A), Aina Fadillah (3A*, 6A), Max Pritchard (3A*, 8A), Rahul Paul (4A*, 7A), Adam Wong (5A*, 3A), Amy Hasnal (5A*, 5A), Seevon Tan (5A*, 6A), Lin Lett Moe Oo (6A*, 4A), Adam Nirwan (7A*, 2A), Banny Ho (7A*, 3A) and Li Wei Goh (9A*, 3A).
Jun Shan Soo, a new student at ISB, achieved 6A* and 2A grades while studying GCE ‘O’ Level at Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar Secondary School was also feted.
