Standard Chartered Securities turns to connectivity in Neuberger Berman 5G fund

Standard Chartered Securities in collaboration with Neuberger Berman has introduced the Neuberger Berman 5G Connectivity Fund.

The new Neuberger Berman 5G Connectivity Fund is a thematic, forward-looking, global equity portfolio investing in key enablers and beneficiaries of 5G and future connectivity. It is designed for investors who want to participate in the potential earnings from the growth of companies driven by 5G.

The fund aims to achieve a target average return of three to five per cent over its benchmark before fees over a market cycle (typically three years) from investing primarily in a portfolio of global equity holdings, focussing on companies that are involved or derive benefit from Next Generation Connectivity.

CEO of Standard Chartered Securities Brenda Low said, “The 5G sector is expected to grow to USD13.2 trillion by 2035, driven by the need to upgrade connectivity systems to better process data. It is already seen as a strategic asset in many nations. The Neuberger Berman 5G Connectivity Fund provides the opportunity for investors to reap the potential that 5G is set to revolutionise societies around the world and we are proud to be offering the first fund of its kind to our clients in Brunei.”
