Families from seven mukims in the Belait District were in high spirits as the Mini Sukan Ria organised sporting activities at the multi-purpose hall of the Mumong Sports Complex last Sunday.
Organised by the Belait District Youth and Sports Department in collaboration with the Belait District Mukim and Village Consultative Council, the communal sporting activities were held in conjunction with the 76th birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
The activities aimed to bring families and groups from mukims and villages in the district together to participate in seven sporting activities throughout the afternoon.
Two teams from each of the participating mukims were present, totalling 14 teams participating and competing in the sporting activities.
Present at the event were the Penghulu of Mukim Bukit Sawat and Acting Penghulu of Mukim Labi Haji Mohd Salleh bin Haji Othman, who also presented prizes.
