S’pore phase of Defence Scholars Development programme ends

The 11th Brunei Darussalam – Republic of Singapore Defence Scholars Development Programme (BSDSDP) ended in a closing ceremony at the Officers’ Mess, Singapore Armed Forces Training Institute – Military Institute, Republic of Singapore on Friday.

The ceremony was attended by Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Shahril Anwar bin Haji Ma’awiah as the guest of honour.

He was accompanied by Permanent Secretary (Defence Development) at the Ministry of Defence, Republic of Singapore Joseph Leong as host of the second part of the programme in Singapore.

This year’s Singapore’s phase of the BSDSDP included visits to the Multi Range Complex (MMRC), Jurong Town Corporation (JTC) LAUNCHPAD and Singapore Bicentennial Exhibition, as well as a dialogue session with Joseph Leong.

Since its introduction in 2007, the BSDSDP has served as an important platform not only for personal and professional development of the scholars, but also in contributing to the enhancement of bilateral defence relations of both countries.
