Donations were handed out to 91 individuals under the Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Ihya Ramadhan Programme this year.

Of the 91 recipients, 78 are underprivileged KUPU SB students, while the remaining are orphans selected among the university’s members.

The day commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, Asmaa Ul-Husna and belting of the national anthem, before welcoming remarks were delivered by Dean of Students Ali Hardi bin Haji Mohamed.

Conducted by the Students Affair Section, the event is held annually to strengthen piety among KUPU SB members, and reap blessings from the holy month of Ramadhan.

The Ihya Ramadhan Programme continues with Qiyamullait, mass iftar and sahur at selected mosques, as well as Tarbiyah Ramadhan programme broadcast every afternoon on KUPU SB’s Instagram, throughout the fasting month.

Meanwhile, the RPN Kampong Pandan Mosque Takmir Committee – in collaboration with the mosque’s youth group – held a talk for women as part of the Ihya Ramadhan Programme yesterday.

The talk dissected women-related fasting issues and provided pointers to ensure they are able to observe the fast properly during Ramadhan.

Belait District Mosque Affairs Officer Haji Haslan bin Haji Shahbudin delivered the talk titled Fiqh Puasa Bagi Perempuan.

Government department officers, Muslimah mosque groups, Beliawanis mosque group and members of private organisations in the Belait District attended the talk.

The talk hopes to enrich the lives of Muslimahs practising the fast during Ramadhan, and at the same time, to attract more people from the surrounding areas to join such events at the mosque.
