Forty-three orphans and 17 special needs individuals had a memorable experience and a happy reunion on board Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) Boeing 787 Dreamliner after receiving donations from the national carrier during a ceremony at the departure gate of the Brunei International Airport yesterday.

Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy) and RB Chairman Dato Seri Paduka Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin and RB CEO Captain Haji Khalidkhan bin Haji Asmakhan presented the donations.

Captain Haji Khalidkhan said despite having to face the COVID-19 pandemic, RB continues to take steps to implement initiatives based on the new norms.

“Towards this end, we continue to explore new and innovative methods of performing our duties and responsibilities. This includes strengthening the initiative to provide assistance to those in need by going to orphanages and donating exclusively as implemented during the month of Ramadhan and Syawal in 2020.”

RB brought innovation and uniqueness to its approach in preserving the well-being and welfare of RB citizens. This year, however, RB not only celebrated orphans, but expanded its initiative by also celebrating people with special needs.
