Special day for MSU graduates

The Management and Science University (MSU) held its 26th Convocation Ceremony recently, presenting certificates to 1,769 graduates from 87 academic programmes.

Forty-eight graduates received PhDs; 34, Master’s; 1,108, Bachelor’s degree, and 579, Diploma.

MSU Pro-Chancellor Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr Wan Mohd Zahid bin Mohd Nordin, MSU President Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid and MSU Vice-Chancellor Professor Tan Sri Datuk Dr Junainah binti Abdul Hamid presented the graduation scrolls and special awards. The Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies contributed the most number of graduates, with 467.

Meanwhile, the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering presented the most number of programmes – 18, from which 113 graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and 12 with a diploma.

Four programmes presented their first batch of graduates; Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Technology (Honours), with 12 graduates; Bachelor in Education (Science) (Honours), with six graduates; and Bachelor in Education (Health and Physical Education) (Honours) as well as Bachelor in Music Technology (Honours), with one graduate each.

Forty-seven best students received special awards across five categories.

The Chancellor Gold Medal Award went to Bachelor of Education (Honours) – (TESL) Aleaa Nur Insyirah Dr Haji Alias, who received a trophy, RM3,000, and an RM18,000 scholarship for higher studies at MSU.

Receiving the President Award were Bachelor in Investment Management (Honours) Sruthi Susan George and Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology graduate Hani Qistina Dayana Avelino S Cavan @ Mohd Fadil, which came with a trophy, RM2,000, and RM15,000 scholarship for higher studies at MSU. Student Representative Council (SRC) outgoing president and Bachelor of Medical Sciences (Honours) Goh Wen Jian received the Mohd Shukri Yajid Outstanding Award.

Twenty-six from the Convo 26 Best Students group received the Academic Award and 17, the Industry Award.
