I’m writing in response to the letter, ‘Low pressure, yellow water issues persisting in residential area’, published in the Opinion page of the Bulletin on July 28.
Like the writer, I have also experienced similar issues. However, in my case, the water is not just yellow; it’s at times brown. It seems to be such a common occurrence these days, even for water that has already been filtered.
I would like to thank the authorities for their efforts in resolving the issue. But one question remains: What is being done to prevent the issue from occurring again?
In quite a number of countries, people are able to drink water straight from the tap. Is it possible to adopt their best practices or build similar infrastructure to ensure clean water for all?
