Social media holds back growth of entertainment industry: Aaron Aziz

    Faruq Bostaman

Actor Aaron Aziz said excessive sharing on social media is among the factors that caused the public to be less enthusiastic about the development of the entertainment industry.

The 43-year-old actor admitted that the entertainment industry has a number of talents with potential and that social media plays a major role in their career, according to Berita Harian Online.

“However, if we share too much private matters on social media, fans will not be as keen as to follow their latest development.

“It’s different since I first set foot in the industry.

“We occasionally get to meet our fans and if the opportunity arises, we make the best of it.

“Now everything is at their fingertips. We have a lot of talented individuals with the potential to go far, but there are a number of factors that can help them survive and fan’s support is important,” he said.

The Singapore-born actor said he is thankful that he is a choice for directors and producers to act as a hero in their films.

“I still receive offers to play a younger character, but I have to reject the offer because it’s not easy to deliver.

“Even though I no longer play a major role, I am still given options to explore various other roles,” said the Ombak Rindu actor.
