Silat training camp attracts international participants

THE 2nd International Brunei Martial Arts Training Camp 2019 came to a close at the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex yesterday.

The eight-day long training camp attracted international participants from Malaysia, China, Japan, India, Indonesia, Greece, United Kingdom, Germany, USA, South Korea, Mexico, Australia, Italy, France and Austria.

The training was conducted by Maul Mornie, a well-known silat athlete particularly in Europe. His credibility as a silat instructor has generated interest of foreigners to learn Brunei martial arts.

The intensive training camp organised by the International Association of Silat Suffian Self Defence International Groups was conducted at Temburong and Brunei-Muara districts.

The participants learned several types of silat from different martial arts in the country including cakak asli and silat betawi tiga.
