    Shy puppy ‘ignores’ fireman trying to save it from a ledge

    ANN/THE STAR – Firefighting can be a stressful, challenging and dangerous profession, but firemen sometimes encounter amusing situations in the line of duty.

    A viral video of a puppy who accidentally got stuck on the ledge several storeys up a building is now making its rounds on social media.

    In the 37-second video posted by the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department, a fireman is seen trying to cajole the shy puppy with some food only for have the dog look away as if it is ignoring him.

    Some likened the puppy to being an “upset girlfriend” giving her significant other the cold shoulder.

    Facebook user Sazarina Hamzah said, “This dog must be a female… if you give her a bouquet of roses, she must melt with the fireman.”

    Other users paid tribute to the ‘Abang Bomba’ for saving lives, regardless of whether their mission involves humans or animals.

    The Penang Fire and Rescue Department Director Saadon Mokhtar said the incident took place at around 3pm on January 11 in Teluk Kumbar, Balik Pulau.

    “We received a call that a stray dog was stuck on the seventh floor of an apartment along Jalan Teluk Kumbar. They managed to catch the dog and bring it to safety. It was then released,” he said.
