Twenty shuttlers took part in a badminton tournament organised by the Malay Kedayan Association (PEMEDAYAN) at Mukim Sengkurong Community Hall in Sengkurong recently.
The tournament comprised four categories – Senior Men’s Doubles, Senior Ladies Doubles, Youth Men’s Doubles and Youth Ladies’ Doubles.
Association advisor Pehin Orang Kaya Putera Maharaja Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Ghani bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Dewa Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Rahim donated the Challenge Trophy for the Senior Men’s Doubles, while fellow advisor Haji Bakar bin Mansor did for the Senior Ladies’ Doubles category.
There were also prizes for the best Senior Men’s and Ladies’ shuttlers.
The tournament was scheduled for 2019, but was postponed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The association said it plans to organise the tournament annually.
