International School Brunei (ISB) hosted a series of special National Day assemblies in conjunction with Brunei Darussalam’s 37th National Day recently.
Students were treated to a showcase of Brunei’s rich cultural heritage and history, presented by first and second Malay language students in both the primary and secondary schools.
Four separate assemblies were held, catering to different key stage groups. Each assembly began with the singing of national anthem Allah Peliharakan Sultan, followed by creative presentations of traditional Brunei folk tales, songs and dances.
The National Day assemblies were held to instil the spirit of patriotism and nationalism in the students, as they were reminded of the significance of the occasion and the importance of keeping the spirit of patriotism alive.
