“The recognition of academic excellence serves as a vital source of inspiration and motivation for students to strive harder in their learning journey,” said Principal Hajah Mariam binti Haji Ladi during her speech at the Best Students Awards and Certificates Ceremony 2024, held at the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation (YSHHB) Primary School.
The event, held on Saturday at the school’s multipurpose hall, celebrated the achievements of 118 students from Years 1 to 5 who excelled academically. Organised with the aim of instilling enthusiasm and perseverance among students, the ceremony highlighted the school’s commitment to fostering a culture of excellence.
As part of the awards, ten students received the “Best Score Award” under the Myon and Renaissance programmes. These awards aim to cultivate a love for reading while enhancing students’ literacy skills, particularly in reading comprehension.
The ceremony also saw the presentation of awards for the Best Student 2024 and the Best Overall Student from each level. Adding a cultural touch to the occasion, the school’s dance club performed a joget, entertaining the audience.
The event was graced by the Guest of Honour, Dayang Hajah Suciyati binti Haji Sulaiman, Chairperson of the YSHHB Primary School Parents and Teachers Association (PIBG). – FADLEY FAISAL
