The As-Syahadah Youth Group in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Youth Religious Programme of the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) organised a mosque visit programme at Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital last Sunday in conjunction with the 39th National Day celebration.
Ra’es of Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar, the guest of honour, officiated the event with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Selawat.
PDI Director Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh was also present.
The programme aimed to reveal life patterns of the Islamic community in the Sultanate, especially to non-Muslims. It also served to boost the youth’s spirit and be bold in relaying information about the mosque in an interesting and accurate manner while introducing the Islamic religion and the artistic beauty of the mosque.
Guides for the programme comprised youth under the Youth Religious Program, particularly the As-Syahadah Youth Group and the participants of the Mosque Awareness Workshop conducted through previous mosque tour programmes.
