THE case against a man accused of sexually assaulting his teenage sister has been adjourned, to make way for further police investigations.
The defendant, whose name has been withheld, is alleged to have fondled and touched his sister inappropriately sometime between 3am to 4am on February 17, at their family home in the Brunei-Muara District.
The charges, brought about by Deputy Public Prosecutor Nor Hafizah binti Ahmad, carry the penalty of three to 10 years in prison and a caning.
Chief Magistrate Pengiran Masni binti Pengiran Haji Bahar ordered for the defendant to remain in police custody, and fixed February 28 for a further mention of the case.
