Two hundred and two runners across the country gathered for the Seria Night Run on Friday.

The run, organised by the Mukim Seria Consultative Council and Village Consultative Councils of Mukim Seria, aimed to raise awareness on the importance of a healthy lifestyle while providing an opportunity to participate in a run across the various landmarks in Pekan Seria.

The starting and finish line was at the Seria Arena Football Field. The runners who tackled the 3.5km route saw them running near the beach-front of the Pekan Seria passing by the Billionth Barrel Monument, before heading to the finish line.

Runners also competed in separate categories where prizes were presented to the first to eight runners who posted their quickest time.

The run had an additional prize to the runner whose costume had the most lights.

Acting Penghulu of Mukim Seria Haji Saidin bin Haji Ibrahim was the guest of honour. He was accompanied by Acting Village Head of RPN Kampong Panaga Ariffin bin Abdullah.

The event started with a warm-up aerobic session before the runners made their way to the starting line where the guest of honour flagged off both categories.

After the run, a cool-down session was held followed with a prize presentation by the guest of honour.
