Serasa Beach cleanup bags 477kg of trash

Over 477 kilogrammes (Kg) of garbage was removed from Serasa Beach during a clean up campaign last Saturday.

The event, organised by Brunei Association of Japan Alumni (BAJA), in collaboration with Green Brunei, saw 46 volunteers pick up used antigen rapid test kits, tyres, plastic bottles and food packaging from the beach.

Ambassador of Japan to Brunei Darussalam Maeda Toru, who is the honorary president of BAJA, also attended.

The main objective of the cleanup was to raise awareness on the importance of protecting the environment and educate the public on the significance of proper waste management.
