A pair who committed a series of house-breaking offences was given reductions in sentence by the Court of Appeal following a recent application by the duo.

Nelson Mancha anak Po’s sentence of two years, four months’ jail and two canings was revised to only serving jail sentence, while Amirizal bin Mohamad’s sentence of two years’ jail and two canings has been revised as two years’ jail with one caning.

Court of Appeal President Justice Michael Peter Burrell, Justices Conrad Seagroatt and Michael Victor Lunn considered the circumstances of the case and its aggravating and mitigating factors while balancing out fairness in sentence.

DPPs Shamshuddin bin Haji Kamaluddin and Sabrina binti Mahmud represented the Public Prosecutor.
