Seminar focusses on data analytics

DigiBiz Talk is one of the initiatives by the Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI), supported by DARe (Darussalam Enterprise) to encourage information and communications technology (ICT) and digital adoption for businesses, particularly to support the growth of the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) through a series of seminars.

The seminar, themed ‘The Power of Data Analytics’, aimed to promote data analytics for businesses in this age of digital transformation.

The event was held at the Auditorium, iCentre in Anggerek Desa yesterday.

The seminar opened with remarks from AITI Senior Manager of Industry Development Group Hajah Farihah binti Haji Md Said.

Dynamik Technologies Sdn Bhd, Brunei Darussalam Data Analyst and Tableau Desktop Certified Professional Aziz Samat spoke on the importance of data analytics and how they can help small businesses; and the introduction of data visualisation. He explained how businesses are transformed using data visualisation. He also demonstrated the use of data analytic tools using Tableau.

CEO and founder of Halosis from Indonesia Andrew Darmadi Hendrawan spoke on the current landscape of data analytics in the region and how data analytics can help businesses to expand. He showed how data analytics are used for strategy planning to reach target customers effectively. He also shared how successful MSMEs in Indonesia utilise the data analytics using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool by Halosis.

The seminar aimed to promote awareness on data analytics to society, in particular, local businesses.

The seminar was attended by around 80 participants from MSMEs, students from higher learning institutions, several government agencies, and the public.
